Ultra-Fine High-Energy Metal Magnetic Particles Designed Specifically for DVCPRO Recording Newly developed ultra-fine, high-energy metal magnetic particles offer significantly higher metal energy levels, with retentivity of 370 mT (3700 Gauss) and coercivity of 183 kA/m (2300 Oe). These superior performance characteristics allow high-density digital recording and playback with a tape that is only 6.35mm wide. Low Error Rates in the Short-Wavelength Range Our ultra-flat base film and advanced super-calendering technology team up to create an exceptionally flat, smooth magnetic layer that significantly reduces spacing loss. In addition, a new lubricant optimises tape transport along the tape path and over high-rpm video heads, reducing micro-dropouts and ensuring high output and low error rates in the short-wavelength range. Exceptionally High Output & C/N Ratio Fuji DP121 DVCPRO video tape features an ultra-thin 0.2 um magnetic layer - the thinnest ever used on broadcast-use metal tape. This reduces self-demagnetisation loss and ensures high output and a high C/N ratio at the short wavelengths that high-density recording requires. In addition, high-density packing of the high-coercivity ultra-fine metal magnetic particles ensures +5 dB higher output (at a recording wavelength of 0.5 um) than with M221E video tape. Superior Transport Stability & Durability A new high-polymer binder system ensures even distribution of the ultra-fine magnetic particles and firmly binds them to create an exceptionally durable magnetic layer. What's more, lubricant contained in the bottom layer of the tape ensures that the magnetic layer is always properly lubricated. Although the total thickness of the tape is only 8.5 um, a damage-resistant, ultra-durable base material and a newly developed backcoating material ensure that the friction coefficient stays low even during repeated passes. Tape durability and transport stability are excellent and heads stay cleaner even under adverse ENG/EFP field conditions and during still/standby, 100x FF/REW and high-speed shuttle operations. Superior Storage Characteristics DP121 DVCPRO metal magnetic particles are specially treated to resist oxidation and prevent magnetic characteristics from being degraded during long-term storage. In addition, exclusive Fujifilm technology minimises tape shrinkage and helps prevent tracking errors caused by track pattern deformation. So even at the narrow 18 um track pitch that DVCPRO uses, tapes that have been in long-term storage still meet the high standards of editing room performance.
